Alexa Curtin has filed for divorce from her husband Michael DeVecchio, putting an end to a stormy marriage that spanned more than five years.
The Real Housewives of Orange County star, 26, and DeVecchio listed their separation date as June 1, 2015, according to The Blast, citing court docs.
The couple will be officially divorced November 16, according to court docs. The two did not have kids, and do not have community property to split in the parting.
They tied the knot November 28, 2013, months after Alexa was arrested in connection with assault on DeVecchio.
The split comes after Alexa’s mother Lynne Curtin, 63, last month filed for divorce from her spouse Frank after 29 years of marriage. Lynne had previous sought a split in the marriage in 2012, the outlet reported, but in December, a judge tossed the divorce after things had been stagnant in the case for more than five years.
Lynne, who was a regular on the Bravo series from 2006 until 2010, told Bravo’s The Daily Dish in October that Frank had not responded to her communications regarding the split: ‘I gave him the papers, and then nothing happened.’
The jewelry designer added: ‘Never in a million years would I ever think that I was gonna be divorced, so it’s strange. I mean, I could talk to him on the phone and have a brief conversation. We don’t fight or anything. It’s just awkward, you know?’
Alexa has been flooded with numerous legal issues over the past few years, stemming from multiple incidents: She currently has a warrant out for her arrest in the wake of no-shows at numerous criminal court hearings.
She was arrested this past January 5 in connection with misdemeanor drug possession in her native Orange County, California, when authorities with the Irvine Police Department detained her with Xanax and paraphernalia on her person, according to the outlet. She subsequently posted bond.
Alexa was also arrested last August, and spent four days in custody at the Central Women’s Jail in Orange County in connection with a series of warrants, the outlet reported.
