Freedom for one terror convict raises questions about others

John Walker Lindh, the American man captured in Afghanistan in 2001 and later convicted of providing support to the Taliban, is set to be released from an Indiana federal prison Thursday after serving 17 years of a 20-year sentence.

The case—and planned release—of the man dubbed the “American Taliban” has drawn opposition and has renewed questions about how to deal with convicted terrorists who now are finishing their time behind bars.
