The Gunners boss was seen in the stands at yesterday’s La Liga clash between Levante and Atletico Madrid.

Emery felt that taking time out from preparing his Arsenal side for their Europa League final was no big deal.

With the Chelsea clash in Baku still over a week away, he took the opportunity to scout some Atleti players.

Diego Simeone’s side finished Los Rojiblancos’ campaign with a 2-2 draw away to the La Liga’s 15th placed side.

Levante took a two-goal lead through Erick Cabaco and Roger Marti.

But Rodri and Sergio Perez found the net in the second half to ensure that Atletico ended the season with a point.

According to The Mirror, Emery already knows which areas of Arsenal’s squad need most investment this summer.

If the Emirates outfit lose to the Blues in Azerbaijan, the former Paris St-Germain boss will only have around £40m to spend this summer.

But that sum could increase if the club do qualify for the Champions League by winning the final on May 29th.

One player already linked with a move to the Emirates this summer is Atletico midfielder Thomas Partey.

The Ghanian defensive midfielder started the La Liga clash before being replaced by Sergio Camello at half-time.

Manchester United are also interested in the 25-year-old, who has made a total of 40 appearances in all competitions this season.

Partey’s agent Daniel Jimenez has revealed that Atletico midfielder is available for £44m.

Jimenez told Passione Inter: “I can say that right now, I haven’t talked to anyone, even if Inter are a top club.

“There’s a €50m release clause in his contract, a figure that’s cheap for a player like Thomas.

“We’ll wait for the season to end and then we’ll see.”
