Opening Zaha offer ‘revealed’

Arsenal are lining up a £40million for Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha , according to latest reports.

But the Gunners could be frustrated as Palace want £80m for their star man. And although Arsenal are likely to wait until later in the summer to see whether Palace are prepared to lower their price, much could hinge on whether Unai Emery’s side beat Chelsea in this month’s Europa League final.

Arsenal failed to make the Champions League places in this season’s Premier League race. But they have another chance to secure qualification for Europe’s top competition when they face fellow Londoners Chelsea in the Europa League final in Baku on May 29.

And the Gunners are ready to test Palace’s resolve with a £40m bid, according to a report from The Sun

The report says Palace want £80m, but Arsenal could offer Callum Chambers, Carl Jenkinson or Reiss Nelson in part-exchange.

Azerbaijan FA’s statement on Mkhitaryan

Arsenal have been assured of Henrick Mkhitaryan’s safety from the Azerbaijan FA should he travel to the Europa League final.

There has been doubts if the midfielder will even travel to the game amid tensions between his home nation of Armenia and the host nation. But Elkhan Mammadov, the general secretary of the Azerbaijan FA, has told the Telegraph that procedures are in place to endure the safety of the player.

Our government authorities provided guarantees to Uefa for Mkhi to come to Baku, so there is no issue of security and safety.

Even before Arsenal qualified for the final, we received a request from Uefa to provide the guarantees, our state authorities provided all the necessary security arrangements for Mkhitaryan to travel to Baku. All the safety and security is already guaranteed.

Arsenal target offers clear update on his future

Arsenal target Leandro Trossard says he may have played his last game for his current club Genk.

As football.london revealed in February, the Gunners have a long-standing interest in Trossard and first made contact with his representatives in November.

The Belgian wide forward remains an option that is under consideration as Arsenal target reinforcements on the flanks, though Bournemouth’s Ryan Fraser and Ajax’s David Neres are believed to be ahead of Trossard on the Gunners’ wishlist.

Genk would want around £20m to sell their star forward, whose 11 league goals were crucial in their fourth Belgian title victory, which was confirmed in a 1-1 draw with Anderlecht on Thursday.
