He has already passed a medical ahead of a move worth around seven million euros
FC Groningen midfielder Ludovit Reis will be presented on Thursday as a new Barcelona player. The Dutchman, 18, flew to the Catalan city on Wednesday to finalise the details of his agreement with Barça.
Reis passed a medical on Wedneesday afternoon and will sign his contract later. On Thursday his arrival will be announced officially.
The deal will be worth around seven million euros to Groningen, whose season is now over. Reis will sign a five-year deal with the Spanish champions.
He joins the club at the same time as Barça are wrapping up deals for other Dutch players. Frenkie de Jong will join the club this summer from Ajax and his teammate Matthijs de Ligt could still follow him to Camp Nou.
Reis will do preseason with the first team under the orders of Ernesto Valverde. From there, a decision will be made on his future, whether or not he plays for the B team.
Despite that, the initial idea is that he will be a first team player once he has had time to adapt to his new life, the city and the club. Everyone is aware he is still very young and needs time.
