Col. Ade Sunmonu (rtd) the Captain of Ibadan Golf Club (IGC) and his executive have embarked on a series of courtesy visits to various Institutions, establishments and prominent personalities within Ibadan metropolis in a drive to attract quality membership.
Barr. Ralph Igwenagu , Oyo State Commander of the Nigeria Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) was one of the personalities visited during the week and was presented in his Onireke Ibadan office with IGC’s recognition plaque.
The visits are aimed at bringing corporate awareness as well as building on the profile for added quality membership of the prestigious club according to the retired military officer who urged the NDLEA boss to embrace the game of golf as a way of recreating and boosting physical wellness.
The IGC boss also visited the patron of the club, the General Officer Commanding 2 Division Nigerian Army, Major General Okwudili Fidelis Azinta at his Odogbo, Ojoo Ibadan office, who gave the IGC team a rousing welcome.
The IGC executives has also lined up a scheduled courtesy visit to the Governor Elect of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji, and some major multi-national companies within Ibadan as part of move to give the game of golf more awareness.
The Captain and his executives has however, received a pat on the back for their new result oriented approach to the administration of the affairs of the club by a former Lady Captain of the club, Ms. Sumbo Oshile who lauded the new initiatives of the officers which has brought about more discipline within the ranks of the club.
