SUN PRAIRIE (WKOW) — Police officers and Sheriff’s deputies believe there is no danger to the public after responding to a Sun Prairie residential neighborhood Thursday afternoon for reports of a suicidal man.

Sun Prairie Police Department and Dane County Sheriff’s office responded to the corner of Hawaii Lane and Delaware Drive at approximately 3 p.m. believing a suicidal man was inside the residence, according to Sun Prairie police.

After an hour and a half of attempting to make contact, authorities learned the man was not inside the building and cleared the scene, police said.

Police believe the man is not in the area and poses no danger to the public.

Police said they are following up on leads in an attempt to locate the person. A sergeant with the Sun Prairie police declined to provide identifying information for the man or say what authorities had for leads for his location because it might hamper the investigation.
